Comments

For some reason, comments are being funny and not being able to be posted to the individual posts that they were commented on, but they did go to my email. So, here are the comments that were posted over the week:

June 3rd:

Glad you arrived safely. I will pass the blog info to the WNL group this week so that more folks will have an opportunity to keep up with what is happening. Blessings on all, Bill

Nice job everyone! Your loyal readers would love to see a group photo...
-Phil Davis, Sean H's Uncle

I'm not gonna lie a berry with a saw is kinda scary but super impressive. I hope this wasn't just a camera shot. -Heather Walker

June 4th:

Looking Good! Have a great blessed week. Bill

I think about the New Orleans team everyday and hope all is well. I love looking at the pictures and wish I could be there with you. Tonight is WNL and know that you will be missed. I sure hope Hunter taught someone else how to make the tea. What I do know is that it will be a quiet ride home from choir tonight. LOL Katie, I will miss your Wednesday hug and look forward to seeing you soon. Blessings to each of you and be safe. May the excitement of working for the Lord keep you going the rest of the week. Be safe and hugs and kisses to all, MAH

June 7th:

Will be praying for you as you travel home tomorrow. Bill

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Working together":
Wow! Now can ask your youth to help finish the Ivy East and Ivy West repairs? Seriously, God never looks at our ability, He asks only for our availability. If our heart is open He will bless us any of us with the skills needed to labor ijn His name. Thanks be to God for each youth and adult who made the trip, opening their heart to serve and hands to minister! LOL Miss Pat

We've made it home!

All 15 of us made it home safely tonight at about 9:30pm...thank you to those that have been praying for us! Thank you to those that kept up with our blog...what a great tool it was over the week! Thank you to those that posted comments...they went to my email that hasn't been looked at in over a week, so I will post all of those tomorrow (really it's already today...we're back in Eastern Standard time and I am typing this from the computer and not the cell phone!)

Sleep well! May Jesus grace you with dreams and visions!
Kristin

On our way home

After a great free day on Friday at a water/amusement park where we enjoyed great fellowship together and a great Friday night closing worship service, we are on our way home today (Saturday). This picture represents how the team has looked for most of the way home, except when they woke up and were very hungry and opinionated!

Cafe du monde

After eating the beignets we gathered all the powdered sugar that was left and put it down a funnel. We are resourceful!

Our work here is done...

We wrapped up for the day and were saying our last good byes right before we loaded our van and took this group picture. We're heading back to camp to take showers and enjoy a free evening together touring New Orleans.

Thursday...

We put the words TEAMeffort into use as we returned to our original worksite and put up a ceiling together!

In the park...

Wednesday nights dinner was in the park...that hasn't seen much renovation since Katrina. We're pretty sure the bathrooms in the park look just like they did after Katrina hit. After a long hike we finally found a makeshift bathroom. The pictures are above. There are no walls...and yes that's a usb cord multitasking as a toilet paper holder!

Us reading the Word together in the park...
We love Mr. Berry...our mission trips would not be the same with out him!!!

This was the team picture taken moments before the long journey to New Orleans.

Pray!

Please pray for our team as some are feeling weary. Probably from heat exhaustion. Pray the Lord strengthens us. That we would be renewed by His Holy Spirit! Amen!

After Lunch

Today after lunch we switched jobs. Boys outside painting and girls inside building a wall and hanging drywall!

Favorite Time of Day

Our favorite time of day is when the ice cream man stops by. Today he actually pulled into our driveway!

Our project

I know all are interested in what we are doing. Well today we are building a kitchen for the people who cook for all the volunteers that come and help plus the locals that need assistance. These wonderful people are cooking for us all week!

We arrived!

We finally arrived after being on the road for 14 hours-and having been together for 16. This is the first trip that we've all been able to fit in one vehicle so we definitely unified now. We are up now about to start this glorious day from Jesus!

Half Day of Intimacy with God-First Portion

Read:
Psalm 84 and Psalm 145. Personalize them in praise to God.
Question:
Have I told my Father that I love Him just for Himself, not for what He does for me?
Meditate:
Be still and know that He is God. Reflect on His goodness to you. Tell Him you love Him because of who He is. Tell Him that you want to love Him more and know Him
better.
Worship Him.

"People of Mobility"

Good morning my Beloved Prayer Warriors. I pray each of you have been desperately seeking Jesus. To know Him better. To hear His voice. I pray you are sitting at His feet. I am excited as we set out on this next adventure that the Lord has for us. Here are a few of my notes from last nights meeting:

"To be people of mobility" (most of this is from a sermon given by Kelley Greene)

  • To be people of mobility we first must move towards Jesus.
  • John 15:15, "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his masters' business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything I learned from my Father I have made known to you."
  • We are not Jesus' people doing His to do list. We are His friends. Jesus invites us into a friendship with Him.
  • When you love someone...you just want to be close to that person...The invitation is for us to fall in love with Jesus.
  • We need to move towards Jesus. Being people of mobility is falling more in love with Jesus first. We have to be at His feet first.
  • Once we are at His feet, our hearts are in tune with Jesus. We begin to see things the way Jesus does. When we have the heart of the Lord, we will move towards the poor. We will move towards the oppressed.
  • Our hearts shift from doing things because we have to--we no longer go on mission trips because we feel like we have to "to be the better Christian." We do them because we love Jesus. Because Jesus is our friend.
  • So where are you running to? Stop. Move towards Jesus. Move towards His feet. Fall in love with Him....then go.
  • Last night you were given information about the mission trips....you were presented with all the information that you could possibly want. Stop. Pray. Listen. Sit at His feet. Then respond.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pray for you by name this week. If you did not sign up on the prayer sheet, please let me know you are praying, so that I may pray for you by name. We will corporately respond in a prayer meeting on Sunday, March 9th at 7:30pm. I look forward to hearing what the Lord as shown you as you sat at His feet!
